Indian Premier League (IPL) is cricket league for professional  launch in year 2008 by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It became like festival for cricket fans. There was eight teams till now ( IPL 2021) but BCCI announce two more teams – Lucknow and Ahmedabad. Now there will be ten teams IPL 2022. players retention in IPL 2022

As we all Know after every three years there is Mega Auction for IPL. And this auction happening now. Auction dates will be announce soon by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). But Before that if team want to secure their players, they have two options Player Retention (Pre Player Auction) and Right to Match (RTM) (During the Player Auction). So here is list of player retention in IPL 2022.

Rules for Players Retention in IPL 2022

  • Each team can retain maximum four players.
  • Out of four retain players Indian players should not be more than three.
  • Out of four retain players overseas players should not be more than two
  • Auction purse is INR 90 crore. After players retention deduction is as follows
    • If four players retain there will be deduction of 42 crore in purse as follows
      • For first player 16 crore
      • For second player 12 crore
      • For third player 8 crore
      • For fourth player 6 crore
    • If three players retain there will be deduction of 33 crore in purse as follows
      • For first player 15 crore
      • For second player 11 crore
      • For third player 7 crore
    • If two players retain there will be deduction of 24 crore in purse as follow
      • For first player 14 crore
      • For second player 10 crore
    • If one player retain there will be deduction of 14 crore in purse
